Swazi Indigenous Products (SIP) is a not for profit Company, soon to be owned by its suppliers – rural Swazi women. It produces a range of natural skin care products made from natural African oils and markets them under the Swazi Secrets brand.
Its mission is ‘To be a profitable Swazi Natural Products company owned by and generating income for rural Swazi women in line with the highest standards of Fair Trade and Environmental Sustainability’.
Members crack and supply seed kernels from marula and other indigenous trees. These are bought by SIP in the communities and then cold pressed to produce the pure, natural oil. It is organically certified by Ecocert. While much of this is shipped for use by major cosmetic manufacturers, the Company has sought to add value locally by producing a range of hand made natural skin care products – Swazi Secrets. Products include marula oil, soap, lip balm, body lotion and facial scrub.
We use only sustainably wild harvested seeds for production of natural oils. The oils are produced on manual presses and used to produce hand made natural cosmetics.
Our mission is 'To be a profitable Swazi Natural Products company, owned by and generating income for rural Swazi women in line with the highest standards of Fair Trade and Environmental Sustainability.
