
Cáceres Florestal pioneered industrial teak plantations in Brazil. Forestry research began in 1968 and the first teak plantation took place in 1971. Ever since new plantations were added yearly, which now compose a large and well grown forest, managed to produce quality timber in suitable sizes for sawing and veneering. Year 2001 saw the first clear-cut. The harvested areas are being re-planted and managed to produce a new crop in 30 years time. Since 2003 the company is supplying teak logs, lumber and panels to producers of veneers, garden furniture and boat decking, abroad as well as in Brazil. Selected teak seeds is another item of sales.
