PT Perkebunan Nusantara III
PT Perkebunan Nusantara III abbreviated PTPN III (Persero), is one of 14 State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Plantation which is engaged in agriculture, processing and marketing of plantation. Company's business activities include the cultivation and processing of oil palm and rubber plants. Company's main products are Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel (Kernel) and downstream rubber products.
Company history begins with the process of acquisition of the estate companies owned by the Dutch by the Government of Indonesia in 1958, known as the process of nationalizing foreign oil companies into the State Plantation Company (VAT).
In 1968, VAT was restructured into a unitary state enterprise Plantation (PNP) is hereinafter in 1974 the form of legal entity was changed to PT Perkebunan (Persero).
In order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the company's business activity of enterprises, the Government restructure the state-owned plantation sub-sector with the merger based on the exploitation and streamlining the organizational structure. Beginning with step merger management in 1994, three (3) state-owned plantation consisting of PT Perkebunan III (Persero), PT Perkebunan IV (Persero), PT Perkebunan V (s) merged its management into the management of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) .
Furthermore, through Government Regulation no. 8 of 1996 dated February 14, 1996, the three companies were merged and named PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) which is located in Medan, North Sumatra.
