Ethical Junction is a vibrant community of responsible organisations who care about doing better for people and the planet.  UK based Ethical Junction (EJ) was set up in 1999, in Manchester, by Steven Knight and Brian Reid. Soon after Chris Wright came on board to help. It was born in the boom - and after considerable investment fell victim when the bubble burst. Steve and Chris salvaged EJ and looked after it until 2005 - operating it on voluntary basis and letting it gradually seep in to the deep knittings of the internet.  In late 2005 a small team from the south contacted Steve and suggested that they had a plan to take EJ to the next level. After a brief meeting in Manchester it was agreed that EJ would be handed over for its second leg.  EJ was placed in a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee - find out more about CICs . Everyone was committed to locking the future of EJ to the good use of community and making it the property of its membership and using the CIC form secured that.  An annual membership fee was introduced in 2006 to help fund EJ's development. And the first 18 months of work were given on an entirely voluntary basis by the team. Since then EJ has helped spawn an Online Ad Network, an Online Marketplace. The team behind Ethical Junction are now an operational part of - which is a social network of people who believe in ethical living.
