The Danish Council for Sustainable Business Development was founded by a broad circle of Danish Businesses in March 2006. The council will focus on the sustainability work of Danish companies and provide motivation for increased efforts in the area. The primary objectives of the council's work are: To share concepts and tools within sustainable business development that can benefit the competitiveness and earning capacity of companies on both the Danish and global markets. Amongst these, to find common frames of reference for defining sustainability for products and services. To share new Danish and international knowledge and tools, inspiring the Danish business community to work with sustainable development and take an active part in the public debate within the area. To encourage the establishment of public and private partnerships with a view to promoting sustainable products.
